Our Story

An unexpected journey of a graphic designer

1. The Intersection of Motion, 3D Rendering, and Interior Design

My journey began in a small local television studio. As a motion graphic designer and 3D animator, my daily life revolved around keyframes, rendering queues, and tight broadcast deadlines. It was an incredible training ground, but I eventually felt the pull to build something entirely my own.

I took the leap and founded my own independent design studio, expanding my horizons into interior design and complex 3D animation. Armed with industry-standard software like Cinema 4D, Blender, After Effects, 3ds Max, and Photoshop, I became obsessed with the intersection of digital art and physical space. I wasn't just creating graphics; I was building photorealistic environments, shaping natural sunlight, and mastering the subtle details.

Little did I know, this precise blend of 3D modeling, light styling, and interior design expertise was laying the foundational bricks for what would eventually become YIMU MOCKUP.

2. The Etsy Spark and the Birth of YIMU MOCKUP

In 2022, I stumbled upon Etsy. Initially, my goal was straightforward: I wanted to find international clients who needed custom video production and high-end 3D animation. I opened my first shop, ready to pitch my freelance services.

But marketplace dynamics have a funny way of showing you what the world actually needs.Instead of video commissions, I started receiving a steady stream of inquiries from digital artists, photographers, and print-on-demand sellers asking for custom frame mockups. They loved the realistic lighting, the natural shadows, and the curated interior aesthetics of my background work. I quickly realized a massive pain point in the creative community: independent artists were spending hours creating beautiful artwork, but they struggled to find high-quality, photorealistic poster mockups and canvas mockups to showcase their work professionally. They needed to present their art in a way that felt premium, lived-in, and aspirational.

Combining my background in interior design with advanced 3D rendering, I crafted my very first collection of 50 frame mockups. The response was immediate and overwhelming.

These reviews didn't just validate my workthey fueled my obsession. I began designing non-stop. By mid-2026, I looked at my hard drives and realized I had quietly built a library of over 1,000 premium mockups. Seeing how much time I saved for Etsy sellers, Shopify store owners, graphic designers, and digital artists made me realize the immense value of this work.

However, as the collection grew, I knew I couldn't stop at frames. Creators across all niches needed help. To fully serve the design community, I began expanding into device mockups, packaging mockups, stationery mockups, beauty & cosmetic branding templates, and home & living product mockups.

To bring this massive, multi-category library to life under one cohesive vision, I decided to transition away from the limitations of third-party marketplaces and build our dedicated flagship home: YIMU MOCKUP. Having our own independent platform gives us the ultimate creative freedom to build a seamless, asset-rich ecosystem tailored purely for creators.

 3. The Power of Passive Income and Creative Freedom

Over the last three years, this journey has completely reshaped my perspective on work, time, and value.

In the beginning, selling digital assets didn't replace my client income overnight. But as the momentum built, I Realized the profound power of passive income. In my previous freelance life, even with high-ticket projects, I was essentially trading time for money. Every new paycheck required a fresh set of grueling hours. I was trapped in a relentless project cycles, client revisions, and tight deadlines, leaving me with very little room to breathe, think, or innovate.

Digital products changed everything. Building high-resolution PSD mockups with smart objects requires an immense amount of upfront labor, precision, and technical skill. But once a mockup is perfected, it can create  income simultaneously while I sleep.

Earlier this year, I made a pivotal life decision: I stepped away from traditional client work to take YIMU MOCKUP completely full-time.By committing 100% of my energy to this platform, I can scale our asset library faster, push the boundaries of 3D realism, and offer even better resources to our community. The ultimate beauty of this business model is the compound effect. As the product library expands, its value grows exponentially. More importantly, it has granted me the ultimate luxury: time. The freedom to step away from the computer without my income freezing, and the invaluable time to be truly present with my family.
